My list of parts for Trick turbo build
#1
First off its a 2011 CCSB Silvy w/ the 6.2/6l80 and 3.42 gear. I have compiled a list of parts listed below. Looking to make possibly around 6-650 rwhp.I drive this as a daily, have put 10k miles on it already in 4 months and tow my race cars w/ it. Any other info needed please let me know.
Some questions first......
Am I overstepping for this much power?
Will it cause problems towing as far as staying in boost and having high EGT's?
What size stall would be good for this?
Will the winter weather up here in Ohio affect the setup at all?
Has 76k on it now, should I bother w/ oil pump?
Was looking into a set of heads also or should I use what I have?
List of parts so far......
Holley High-Ram
102 NW dbw tb
Comp trunnion upgrade
Comp hardened 7.4 pushrods
Comp 918s
LS9 head gaskets
Trick Flow double roller
Edelbrock 2 pc timing cover
Mezeire EWP
Taylor 10.4 wireset
ATI balancer
ARP head studs
ARP header studs
Katech belt tensioner
Snow meth injection kit
MSD ign coils and harness
Corsa 3.5 sport exhaust from 14+ Silvy
Cam will prob be spec'ed by BTR or a better recommendation?
Any help, advise or part selection please let me know. Im gonna finish collecting parts over winter probably and start doin the work in spring to get ready to possibly order a stage 5 kit

If you wanted to save money you could make that power with the stock intake manifold and throttle body. The turbo isn't going to care much that you have them. Stock heads flow great already, I don't see a reason to upgrade those.
Stock coils should be just fine with that power too, I'd venture say that most people don't even upgrade those and they still work great with large power levels.
Add some 70-80lb injectors and a larger fuel pump to the upgrade list. The stock flex fuel pump runs out of steam around 550hp give or take a little.

The list has many parts that are not needed to make the power you are looking for.
6.2 + ls9 cam will get you very close to your goal.
Pulling the gas turbo engine isn't a diesel. You don't want to stay in boost for long periods of time. We can build the kit to help in the pulling mode.
See below for parts that just aren't needed for the power goals you listed.

Ive trimmed down your list and still think this is above and beyond what you need.

No need for a double timing chain (single row and be done) and a 2-piece cover is not required unless you are intending on changing cams?
The intake and TB money can be spent elsewhere (torque converter) as the OEM parts will get you there no problem.
Stock coils are more than adequate.
I'll be going through the something similar and with about the same expectations for the time being (600whp will be more than enough).
Trick kit T6 w/3.5" DP
BW S480 (80/83) 1.10 AR
Valve train upgrade + DOD delete kit
Dual valve spring kit
Straub rockers
Pushrods
Custom spec cam
Rolon timing chain (vendor on the Corvette forum)
LS9 gaskets (only because the heads need to come off for the DOD delete)
ARP studs (only because the heads need to come off for the DOD delete)
* ID 850's if necessary
* Upgraded pump(s) if necessary
Probably an FTI or Circle D tripe disc in the 2800-3000 range.
Just gives you another point of view as I've done some research and believe I have a solid but over built plan.

I wouldn't even bother changing the exhaust. My 2012 CC 1500 6.2 has a 3.5 stock exhaust and they flow great. If you want more sound just change the muffler or take out the resonator.
As for the winter months. You just need to prep for it well. I ran my turbo setup for years up here in Alaska as my daily. I saw -40 temps all the time. You need a good Blanket (which I think trick has) and you need to wrap all of your hot pipes really well. I used the titanium dei wrap. It is a PITA to install but it works really well to hold in heat. Just as a suggestion I used hose clamps on the crossover because it sees more wind and abuse. Helps to keep the wrap tight and no one sees the clamps.
Always be cautious when driving the truck on a cold day. These motors make alot of moisture. I have never had it happen on my front mount setup, but on my rear mount STS my wastegate would freeze shut while crusing down the highway at high speed and not making alot of heat. I burned up a piston from this. Again, I have never had it happen on a front mount, but something to think about.

The list of parts is what I have in boxes in garage already. Most if not all of it were picked up from Summit dump sales. So Ive gotten very very good deals on it.
The High-Ram,NW 102 TB,MSD coils,Holley v/c's, to me was a "cool" factor when opening the hood, I like flashy things Lol
I was just looking to have something different around here when you open the hood. I guess I could just sell off the things you guys have recommended that I dont need.
Just figured alot of the internal parts, head gaskets, head studs was extra insurance?
The Corsa actually was just put on truck today so that'll probably be stayin on anyways unless it would be beneficial to switch to 4" catback?
Ill worry about injectors and possible pump replacement when the time comes since its and easy swap out same day.
Ive read everyones posts and I appreciate the knowledge and help from everybody, just didnt wanna make anyone feel left out Lol

If you have them, use them or you can sell some of the stuff and have money towards other parts.
For sure the fuel injectors you have and the fuel pump won't support 650whp. I think the stock 6.2 injectors are around low 50's, like 52lb/hr and you'll run out of juice at about the same area as the pump, around 500ish HP.
I didn't mention it in my first post figuring it was a given but don't forget about a 2 or 3 BAR map sensor depending how much boost you may push on it some day. You'll need it for logging boost and creating your VVE tables for boost.

My truck is FF, thought Ive read or I could be wrong but I thought it would all be enough for that lil bit of power?
Ya from what Ive read also, is it the ZR1 map sensor thats the good one to use? I forget now and I should start making a list for small stuff that I need to get.
And the one big thing I was still pondering is which catch can setup to get? I seen some photos of Tricks new kit their doing. Gotta keep following for price release on that.
Ill keep adding info or questions to this post as I think of them.
