My cam okay for boost?

Im getting a holley hi ram when I get my turbo stuff. Finally started working full time so the parts are about to start rolling in. I really like the look of the holley and from what I can tell they help achieve more power with less boost. Not just that particular brand but larger intakes in general. First I am putting my truck on a 200 shot though. I will be doing a writeup in the nitrous section of my stand alone fuel setup and everything. I plan to keep this standalone setup for boost as well.

Potentially yes especially if you reach a point where the intake starts to be a restriction. Basically power is about moving air/fuel where as boost level is simply a measurement of pressure which is restriction. By freeing up the path for the air to travel more air can flow at a lower pressure. This is part of why I often hate when people ask a generic "how much boost" question. So lets say you are making 400rwhp@10lbs and you swap to a 90mm intake/tb you might make 425rwhp@8lbs. That is an imaginary example, but its about cfm to make power not psi.

What happens if you use a TBSS intake with a 78mm throttle body then?

The increased intake volume will be beneficial however greater gains would be found with a 87/90/92mm tb. Honestly while it helps the tb becomes a choke point. You are right below 500hp builds the intake won't help much, but there is a good reason GM put the larger intake on every gen IV cathedral headed truck. It is also important to note that matching heads(ported or 243s) will be the next important step.
