Is my 245k miles lq9 ready for boost?

Have an 03 sierra denali with 245k miles. Who thinks it is ready for 8psi? Is there anything easy I should swap/add? Thinking about maybe pushrods and valvesprings? Is that necessary?

If it has been well kept/maintained, not buring oil, or smoking, put it to it.. Springs would be a must if they are orig, also be a good thing to do push rods also..

Seems to have been well cared for, one owner before me and he ran amsoil 0w30 scheduled changes. No smoking or noise or indication of failure. Seems to stil run strong. Thought about doing a compression test first but not sure if that is even worth it. I will be keeping the boost down for now so seems like it might hold?

Do a leakdown test and that will tell you just about everything such as burnt valves, rings, etc... As said, springs and pushrods probably required, otherwise these engines are known to run very well with more miles then that.

If it's not ready by now, it won't ever be... :-)
Spend your money on a used, low mileage longblock. Otherwise you'll just be buying a used, low mileage longblock or rebuilding your current worn out motor by the time you get your forced induction dailed in.
Your engine might be marginaly fine at the moment but add the stress of boost and your worn rings and loose bearings will be singing a different tune. IMO, unless you can afford the downtime and cost to do both right now, do the motor first.
