I have been running LS6 springs at 11psi for months and have no valve float. My shift points are 6,200 and it pulls hard all the way through.

maybe its the cam too though. don't the ls6 cam pull further in the rpm band anyway?

I'm still running the GT67 with an .81. It seems to be constantly spooling by the sound of it, (its pretty damn loud till I get the c/o and muffler on). Its set up to shift at 6000 right now and it pulls hard as ****, just ask the lightning from last night.
