Default MP122 at the track....

Ran my truck at Lonestar Motorsports Park this evening. We added 243 LS2 heads, 1.85 comp roller rockers, and 28" tall ET streets to the mods below. Still haven't figured the N2O out, so all runs were sans bottle. Three runs. Each was a 12.57 (how's that for consistancy?). Two at 109 and one at 108 mph. 1.7 and 1.8 60's. The thing left hard with very little tire spin. Just put it in "D", pointed it down the track, and stabbed the throttle. Got to 9psi quick and held throughout the runs.

Smoked a Lightning, but got bit by a CTS-V. Old fart in that thing never made a sound and ran consistant low 12's. Had no idea they were that fast. I'm not sure he even turned his A/C off.

Thanks to Allen Nelson for his help getting this thing together. My son did the driving and I did the watching. I think I had as much fun as he did. Need some help at that track. Lightnings were abundant, but we had the only GM street truck there.

Did a little investigating. That Caddy CTS-V is sporting a 6.2L LS3 with a TVS1900 on top at about 560HP and TQ. He said it was stock. I didn't believe him. Thought it was just an LS3. I had no idea it had a blower on top. No bump in the hood, no blower sound, just a super quick granny looking wolf in sheep's clothing.

Be the first on your block to own one. It's avialable with 6 speeds (manaul or auto) and four doors. All you need is a little crazy streak and $60K burning a hole in your pocket!

That sounds like a great day. Do I see a stall and some slicks in your future? I think you will beat that CTS-V sometime soon!

Ahhh shoot. It never ends....does it? If we add a higher stall, fatter skins will be a necessity. He's at least 800 #'s lighter. We'd have to spend more than a little to keep up. If he pulleys down and gets a tune, We're SOL. A pulley and a tune would run him $500 tops. Think I'll "run" when he's on the line. We know when we're beat. Maybe he'll be somewhere else in two weeks at the next "test and tune". Bring on the Lightnings. Those we can handle.

O.M.H., do you have any previous runs on your truck that you can compare to last nights?

Did you improve in any particular areas (60', 1/8, trap...)?

I wish I had a before and after. Last time at the track, on 285/20's, there was no traction to be had. Backed out of it twice and still almost got into the wall. Never made a complete run. The ET Streets make all the diff. They're fat, short (about like a 3.73 to 4.56 gear change), and sticky. I lowered the PSI to 18 and they hooked with very little spin. Sorry I don't have anything to compare.

That Caddy is stock. its the 09 CTS-V. It has a detuned ZR1 LS9 engine called the LSA. It is rated at 556hp@6100rpm 551 lb/ft torque@3800rpm. Slightly different block than the LS3.

It has a 1.9L TVS blower on it making 9 psi boost. They are dynoing just under 500rwhp.

Tuned they are well into the 11's. hennesey has 1 running low 11's.

peace
