Personally, I am less willing to pick little chunks of rotor out of my intercooler core, cylinder heads, and pistons.
On my setup, Whipple's redline for the 2.3L is 16k, for example. I run a 7.5" crank pulley, 2.625" compressor pulley, and shift at 5600RPM. Mathematically, it doesn't get any better than that. Roots (Eaton) can spin faster because the second rotor isn't overdriven like it is in screws, but even still, 21k+ is WAY past safe. It's a bomb. Kind of like sending power through a 4L60-E...
why do you think 21k is way past safe? curious what info your basing that off of?

It was mentioned 18k is the redline. If that's true, 21.5k is almost 20% over redline. I'd say that's asking for trouble. What's the real redline?

I'm not exactly sure. Few years ago Jerry Magnuson was telling me about the durability testing these things go through and it's pretty intensive. Really impressive. I heard rumors of Lingenfelter spinning them in the 22-23k range.

You can go up to a 2.5" Pulley.

<knip>
If you look at the pulleyboys site listed above, you'll see that the pulleys for a car radix (rear-driven via extra shaft) are different than ours, and tend to run smaller. Apparently there is a speed reduction on the rear belt. Maybe BlownChevy can provide us with more info, but it looks as though he might not be spinning the blower as fast as we think.

As to the 15 psi, boost can actually be back pressure due to a faulty system. Perhaps a misindexed cam as mentioned above, or maybe an exhaust restriction such as melted/plugged cats.

he is overdriving his blower via rear pulleys

FWIW. I'm in the process of dropping a 408 into my buddy's 112 Radixed SSS. I've been real curious to know just how it will perform w/ that blower. It might give us another example to compare to.

With the front inlet/rear drive you can order different pulley setups for the rear. They have Under-Drive, One to One and Over-Drive setups.

So I see he never posted a vid or a dyno graph of that run or anything else for that matter? Did he make any new threads in regards to his set-up and if not can we assume this was BS or just improperly sized cam/restrictions/etc...? Just wondering where we stand on the credibility of this on a properly flowing engine?

but you are out of the efficiency range basicly you are making more noise and more heat without doing anything kinda like my wife..
