Default Mp t70?

This local guy has a mp t70 turbo. Says it's a a/r98 on the turbine side. Big shaft? Didn't think mp made that. Anyways, needs a rebuild. He's asking $200 obo... would that be good for a 5.3? Front mount, and I'll put a cam in it too.

Btw how much are rebuilds?

Master Power is no longer in business, so I'm not sure if it's possible to rebuild it. Perhaps there are companies out there making parts for them, or the parts are universal? Give Boost Lab a call, they might be able to rebuild them.

I've got the same turbo in an RCSB, stock cam though, 7 psi by 2500rpm with a 2300 stall, nice street setup.

Master Power didn't go out of biz, they just no longer import to the US, turbos or parts. You might be able to find parts, but I would just look for a turbo that doesn't need to be rebuilt.

If your looking to stay with the MasterPower, Used ones go pretty cheap, and I'm sure lots of people will be upgrading with tax time, I know that's what I'm doing. I payed $450 for my MPT70 and it has performed flawless so far, up to 14psi, running 132mph in a 3300lb car.

That is with a LS6 cam. What are your goals? Or is this just a "it's available so I'll get it" type of thing?

As money allows ill slowly build up all the things I need to boost it. But I'd like to throw down 500-600. And run low 12s maybe dip in 11s. But this is in a ext cab fs. I'm sure ill need more hp for that? I don't mind doing weight reductions.
