I didn't bend mine but I think I stacked washers behind the dipstick mount to make it fit right. Might have even had to get a little longer bolt.

Well the Chevrolet dealer has me one on the way. I guess I'll try it again when it gets here tomorrow. So far: oil dipstick tubes = 2 , Kelsey_canard = 0.

On our 2010 truck we replaced the stock one with one from my 07nnbs. They are bent/routed different and slid in with no modifications through the manifold. The one that we made work was routed closer to the firewall and didnt have to modify anything.

I didn't have to bend the lower part. I had to bend the top to clear the turbo.

I did the same thing pretty much. There are two different styles for the 09 trucks. GM decided to redesign them shortly after the 09 production began. Ive bought both styles of them, and the early 09 version is the same as the NBS truck dipsticks (guess GM had left over stock to use up). I used the early style and didnt need to bend it at all, just slid right in. But I did have trim the bolt hole a little so it would clear the log flange where it bolts to the head. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for all the help guys. I should have my other dipstick tube in today, and I'll give it another try again tonight.

Got my new dipstick in. It appears to be different from the other. The gm part number is : 12609269. Here's a comparison pic.

Yea, the new one you just got is the GM redesigned version. Thats the same one that came stock on my 09. I changed to the older version, which is the same as your old one in the pic. The old one is the kind I didnt have an issues with and ended up using.
