Default Meth pump pulsing

Is it normal for a meth\water pump to pulse? If I run it through the jet the pump pulses slowly as it sprays but if I remove the hose and run it straight, no jet, it runs constant and what looks like a higher pressure.

I also have the original 100 psi pump. I see a lot of companies going to 150 as their base pump. Is it worth the upgrade?

Thought so but I just relocated my system into the bed and I never noticed the pulsing before. Oh well Ive got a 5 gallon tank now so no more filling up at every gas stop when towing.
