Default Cam for KB/370 combo?

I have been gathering info for my new setup which will be a forged 370 ironblock with a Kenne Bell 2.8L intercooled topmount.

Ken @ KB recommended a 02-04 Z06 cam (208/211 .551/.551 117.5) but I am not so certian it is the 'best' cam for my application.

I personally was thinking of 220/226 .581/.570 114+4 with comp XE-R intake lobe and XE exhaust lobe.

I have also come across a cam supposedly spec'ed out by Texas Speed for a Z06 with a KB that is a 220/224 .581/.581 117+0 Comp XE-R lobes on both I/E.

I am on a strict budget but I want a good matched cam for the setup. The truck is my DD so I want something that idles well, makes good use of the torque supplied by the blower and is very reliable (good on springs and lifters). Target rpm range is 1800-6000.

Comments?... Opinions?... Suggestions?...

Me personally I would go with something a bit larger and not reverse split. I would say another 10 on the duration and 30 on the lift. On like a 115lsa. Thats JMO, take it with a grain of salt.

Call Richard at WCCH, explain to him your mods and goals, he will spec you a nice cam as he did the same for me. Or, just pm him and ask him to look at this post and post up his recommendations. Before you do that though, you need to be very specific with all your mods and goals for you setup, and only then can a cam be decided.

If the KB can move enough air, which i'm sure it can, then I say go big on the cam. Call Alan at Futral and see what he says. I think big boost, with a big cam would be nice. I'm running one bigger than most would have reccomended.
