Default meth

I am thinking about going with a meth kit. Probably the snow performance. Anyone running their safeinjection? Give me some feedback on your meth kits pro's and cons. Thanks.

I don't know anything about the snow kit but the AlkyControl kit is top-notch in quality parts and customer service.

Pro's:
Compensates for crappy gas by raising octane.
Lowers IAT's (only slightly)
Keeps top end crispy clean!

Cons:
Dependance.
Something else that can break causing engine failure.

I have my own, LOL I have a pump from Kennedy's out of New York, but basically what trever1t says...dependance, you become addicted. There has never been any negative feedback as far as I remember from AlkyControl.

What kind of boost are you running?

Sure! You just won't benefit from it much. You might be able to squeeze a few more degrees out of the setup than normal, but I don't think it's worth it as far as money for mods go in a NA setup.

I just read your sig, 5.3 with radix and 2.8 pulley, sooo what 9 to 10#'s? Give AlkyControl a call, solid kits and top customer service, Top!

Thanks guys. The safeinjection, from what I understand, will retard timing and or lower boost should you ever run out of fluid or have some type of failure with the system. good insurance I think.

Can't see how it would lower boost or lower timing? Any more info on that?

It is a little box that sorta resembles an ignition box. the fluid passes through the box an I guess it reads pressure and if for any reason the pressure drops below a set level it will control a solenoid to open a wastegate or bypass valve to lower boost and can also work with aftermarket ignition boxed to lower timing.

hmm, sounds like added complexity but if it works, cool. The Alky kit uses your washer level sensor so that your cluster will display "low level" when low but honestly I have nver gotten it low enough to worry.

CoolingMist kits apperently have the same thing...not sure I understand how it works either...The washer level lite is a simple fix, but won't help if u have a pump failure ...I kinda like the wastegate idea to preclude boost if there is a pressurization prob with the pump...shud be something some of the brainiacs on here can build up easily enuf?
IMO...if ur IATs are good, and ur getting the extra ~100rwhp from the Radix don't bother - its just something else to deal with, and besides Maggy says it causes premature wear on the helix blades.
