Max my Maggie
#1
I have this.

In this.

...and I'm ready to go faster.
Currently have a 3.2 wheel on the 112 with a Z06 cam on 93oct. I'm ready to park the truck for the winter for upgrades and have these in mind.
2.6" pulley, add idler pulley just below nose drive for max belt wrap, 90mm j tube and tb, 28" radiator with ls1 fans for an HX, E85 & injectors to support it (already running an A1000), OL SD tune so I can remove the MAF restrictor, better cam, possibly a larger crank pulley (pinned either way), build a set of LTs and dual 3" exhaust.
I regularly spin the engine to 7K... just because I like the sound. Should I go to a GT2-3 or custom? Is the pulley combo above too outrageous in relation to heat and or belt slip on 6rib (I do have an HD tensioner on it already)? Any other mods I should consider? Is my plan ridiculous?
I have no goal in mind other than to max out my combo and hopefully be satisfied.

I would get the spacer for the lower manifold if you plan to spin it that high as well as a larger heat exchanger. That should help keep things in check.
Belt slip is going to be a potential issue although the belt wrap will help. An 8rib would be a good idea though. With a overdrive crank and 2.6 upper how much boost are you expecting? I bet you are close to 20ish.
Cam wise I almost always prefer a custom grind for such a wild build. Honestly anything will be better than the LS6 baby cam, but your build is very unique.

I don't know what to expect as far as boost goes but I'm wondering if increasing engine size would help. I figure if I go to a 370 with all of the above it would make a good bit less boost than if I kept the 5.3. Less boost, same amount of airflow would mean similar power either but with lower IATs as a function of lower boost. Is that too far fetched?
I can buy a 6.0 short block with rusted cylinder walls for $100 from a buddy. Could go .030 and do a set of forged slugs.
I'll probably reconsider going 8 rib.

Sell the 112 and get this.

It will make a lot more power than the 112. If you want even more power than get this one.

That pulley combo sounds a bit extreme.
As far as the cam swap it would definitely be worth some power, but only running a 3.2 right now there is more power to be had a lot easier first.
I'd say for now go with a 2.8" rip cut pulley and the j tube. That will be a very big bump in power. Any smaller and I'd say without a doubt you'll get belt slip. The next step would be an overdriven crank balancer.
At that point there will be little things here and there to get a couple ponies... But I'd be looking at a different blower if that doesn't cut it.

Pretty huge power increase from a 3.2 to a 2.8 with the addition of a 90mm. What injectors & fuel pump are you running? You may need another upgrade or two for the fuel system as well.
