Question Maggie Owners Wanted!

Hey guys....I own a 2000 ECSB 4WD W/5.3, MP112, Vinci Trucker Cam, and bolt-ons. I am going with a Yank torque converter in my truck. What stall would you recommend? Dave at Yank recommends the SC3000. He stated that the owner of Magnuson uses that converter in his own vehicle. I would like to hear some opinions and experiences you have.

John

I had a hard time justifying spending the money for the converter. Once it was in all that went away. Best money i ever spent. I bought my SC3000 three years ago and never looked back.

Converter is tight and flashes right where they spec'd it out for my hp combo. Converter is still killer in my cammed NA motor combo i currently run.

IMO you can't go wrong with the SC3000

Over Rated over priced my opinion, He said the same to me About magnuson,I have a 6k+ pound vehicle,+ 7.0 liters and he offered the same set-up to me, For my application he was way off base,Had another company build mine to spec 2600 tight, and for half the cost and had it in 4-days. It stalls perfect in my truck.

Do your research and call around, dont follow footsteps if they are not going in your direction.

I have the same converter stalled to 2800, it is not advertised on their site but Dave will tighten up a SC3000 for you if you ask. STR stays the same. It is a great converter and if you are after good launches I'd say go for it. The 3000 will be slightly better for the track.
I agree with what Supersub states above, don't follow, research! Enjoy that supercharger!

I use and recommend a Pheonix Transmission built Converter, at 2600-2800. If you tow he can build it tighter, everything inside is tig welded with an anti ballooning plate. We were able to lock mine in 3rd for a pull from 25-141 on the dyno and not a single hick-up.

Jerry uses a MUCH lower stall converter than that. I am pretty sure its a 2400.

I have used their convertors and trannies in my mustang, never ever had a problem, the owner and master tech are super nice and very knowledgable, not to mention he is like 30min from my house!!! I have talked to him about my truck and he will be building my converter, also his are alot cheaper than the Yank's...
