Smile Maggie build questions

i have a 04 sierra ex-cab, I had an sts on for several years and got tired of always working on it, i have 107500 miles on the 5.3 with a custom turbo cam and a nelson tune, also have a built 4l60 with a 3000 yank converter, I need info on the most cost effective way to go supercharged. was thinking a lq4 new cam and not sure what to do. want to see around 500hp to the tires, any input? I do drive the truck alot but want it to haul *** when need to, should i leave the 5.3?

Run the 5.3 till it blows. What are teh specs on the cam? That converter may end up beign a bit much for the radix since low end comes on so low. What other mods do you have on the truck?

I cant remember the exact specs, it was a custom grind allen recomended. I have the hardend push rods and springs, the cam worked great with the turbo, not sure how it would do with a magnacharger? could i get somewere in the mid 400hp range with the 5.3 without changing heads? and i really dont want to change out the conver just had the tranny rebuilt and converter gone through. wich maggie should i run? or should i go procharger? i want it to be reliable and want it to perform without alot of problems that i had with the sts, i do have gm 20" wheels on it and they are heavy as hell.

You need to do some searching and reading. You need to figure out at what point in the power band you want your power. You also need to figure out what cam you have. Allen likes teh 220/220 cams on 115s which if it is then that would work fine with a supercharger, it may not be optimal but should work pretty well.

Do you do any towing? Have any track times in mind that you want to run? What Yank converter do you have?

when i had the sts i could never even get into the thirteens with the truck, it made me sick! I shipped the truck from florida all the way to texas to allens shop to get it tuned right. I was never happy with the sts kit, I it was fun on the street but at the track it sucked for me anyway.

An exhaust biased cam will help make more power in a supercharged application, any of the sponsors can sell and recommend a cam for your application. What is your budget? A blower is going to need headers and any form of FI will benefit from meth. A used radix 112 will get you into the 12s pretty easy with some stick tires on the rear at the track and will give you all the low end you could want.
