MAF sensor blew apart
#1
Was logging some data on the way home today and got into it in 2nd and shifted into 3rd at 6100RPM and ~6psi. Got back in it about a second later and the power was low and hesitating, so I let off the gas quickly put in the clutch and and the engine died. Thought for sure I blew her up, but I got out and didn't see any oil or smoke. Looked under the hood and saw the MAF had blown apart. The outlet lip had sheared clean off from the rest. I was only two blocks from home so I limped it back.
Has this happened to anyone else? My only explanation is that during the shift the pressure in the cold side was too great and it blew apart the MAF. The BOV is working just fine.
I guess this is a good time to go SD and 2 bar COS

I need to get mine out of there ASAP. Mines held together up to a max of 8.7 psi thus far but I don't want to chance it. Truck has been on a flatbed twice since getting the turbo on (sucks)

I guess I have been EXTREMELY lucky then. I have manged to beat this **** out of my stock tensioner( only had to replace it 1 time) and never had the MAF blow apart, been boosted for the past 5 years from6-12lbs.

Mines been on a flatbed twice as well. Once when the trans went out and a starter. Good thing yours is an easy fix. If you need a new one for the time being send me a pm. I still have my stock one.
