Default Looking for ideas for 6.0 Turbo low end.

I got my STS kit installed about 2 months ago and really like the may the truck runs, except for the low end torque. What are some things that I can do to make the truck feel more responsive on the low end? Torque converter? Shift kit? I have already installed a liquid to air intercooler and plan on raising the boost to 7psi from the stock 5psi in order to make more horsepower. I would like the truck to be a daily driver and still be able to tow occasionally, but it would also be nice to leave some rubber off the line every now and then. Everything on the truck is stock except for the injectors, turbo and Nelsons PCM.

a well routed system the lack in responce/responce time can be contributed to routing of that thing.

A stall solves the problem. I have a 2800. From a dig it won't spin the tires until about 13 mph. Which is perfect. It lets you get moving and then you can pedal it to keep traction. Much better than blowing the tires off the line.

I'll look into getting a converter. Is there anything else I should look at as well?

Looks like he already has something better than a front mount air to air cooler.

As others have said, a converter will really wake up the low end. Just make sure it's a quality lockup converter (and get a trans cooler if you don't already have one) in order to keep some amount of highway mileage and towing in it.

Cool

The convertor on your truck will stall up to 2500 rpm. Hold it for a couple of secs until you see 2 to 3 psi of boost and you will be able to leave more than enough rubber. Hold your left foot hard on the brake and just give it enough throttle to bring the revs up to 2500 rpm and hold it until you see over 2psi on the guage and 3 psi would be even better. I have seen over 4 psi doing this. Let the brake go and plant the throttle at the same time. The tires will light up and the back will start to slide sideways but just hang onto it.

I did this one day in 2WD just to see what it would do as I normally launch in 4WD. It lite the tires until the shift and then lite them again in 2nd gear. The next day I went back and measured out of curiosity. The truck left a 2 wheel peel for 100' and then paused for 30' or so and left another 2 wheel peel for another 50'.

You can do it, we can help.

Brake stalling works good at the track, but I think he is looking for help with normal driving also.
