If there's no tuner close. You will need to do mail order.
Takes a bit longer but will get it done.
Just go slow take your time and don't rush.

As far as the tranny. Keep boost low say 4-5 psi.
Do a shift kit, servo and have fun.

I have had customer run 60e with luck as long as you understand and accept
Low boost, and its on borrowed time.
Once you feel the boost you will want more, and that's where folks get into trouble.

For what you want, I'd say get a Magnacharger kit. Comes with a tuner.

 

Ya, the 5.3 or 6.0 in the S10 I have is what I originally wanted to do but after reading more and thinking more about it I don't feel the S10 is worth all the extra hassle involved. I know its low weight alone makes up for over 100 hp but to me its just not worth the trouble. I really do feel like a Maggie is the way to go. I still need to find a clean 2wd rcsb to buy close to me. In the last couple of days I've also been kicking around the idea of a AWD TBSS since there are a few of those around me for sale but I here they have lubing problems and Trailblazer itself is kind of cheap and falls apart.

 

Since you don't have a truck yet I think buying one already modded and done right is great way to go. If you save for it you can pick one up for a hell of a lot less than you would probably spend after all is said and done. You just have to have the cash as opposed to spending a bit at a time and take your time for the right deal. Ask anyone, you can only get a fraction of what you put in them after all the hard work and effort. People have to de-mod and sell parts to even sell out many times because they have invested so much. BUT, take your time. I saw a 10 second truck for 10k or so awhile back. I know there are others if you're willing to wait for it but you'll miss the fun of the build of course. Either way best of luck to you and have fun!
