Default Looking at Forced induction options w/out onsite tuning?

I don't have a tuner anywhere near me so my tunes would have to be mail order. What's my best options for making 400+rwhp that idles nicely and is daily drivable? I have no problem dropping the coin on FI but the main thing is no tuners anywhere near me.

Great Falls, MT. Nearest place for tuning maybe Spokane, WA which is 6-7 hours away. I'd like to do it all myself in my garage and maybe mail order the computer if possible.

I know Blackbear ( one of the sponsors to the right) has Autocal where they can write your tune and you can send them back info so they can adjust where needed. Magnacharger TVS kits come with a tune or depending on what year your vehicle is you may have to send them the PCM for them to calibrate it.

Why not do a 6 liter swap with 243s custom grind cam and a gmt900 intake manifold with a tune and a 32-3400 stall? 400+ rwhp easily for a fraction of FI price?

It would be a daily driver in traffic. Is that setup mild enough not to cause problems at stop lights and on cold mornings in the winter? I'm still learning. I haven't even got a truck yet because I'm being very choosy about finding one that I like. It will be a 03-06 RCSB 2wd prefer a 5.3. My current daily drivers are an S-10 2wd that I will let go of and 2012 Silverado crew 4x4 that I think is too big and heavy to mess with motor mods.

Allot will depend on what you are starting with motor and drive train wise as well as what you want to put into it. Remember with more power comes the need to beef up the transmission, the question will be to what extent and that will depend on what route you take.

In all honestly I figured I'd start with a good condition stock 5.3 RCSB, throw a little boost at it and not drive too aggressively until funds recover some in the bank. Hopefully I can make the tranny last for 6 mos-1 year and if it craps out after that I'll buy a tranny built for that kind of power. The nice is that if it goes down I have other trucks to drive. I think with a trans flush with synthetic fluid and a heavy duty cooler I could buy a little extra time with the trans. If staying N/A and going with a 6.0 is the way to go I could do that too although I'm sure I could sink $4k pretty easy into making a 6.0 run that hard. Just mainly looking for DD sleeper.

I do a lot of remote tuning with hptuners, and I sell a tuning kit that includes a pre wired wideband kit with hptuners pro version which is identical to what I use for tuning. Let me know when you are ready if you are interested.
