I always thought the 'best stock block' debate was a load of bs, nobody can back it up with any real world results or findings
As an example when I tore down my 03' LQ9 and it had the LS2 style rods with floating pins and the timing chain was the same damn thing as the 'upgraded' chain.
I got another core engine, this time an 06' LQ4. It had the 13mm or whatever intake bolts so that was the indicator that it would have the good rods. Upon tear down it had the same rods as my 03' LQ9 (dimpled)
For the 6.0s I steer clear of pre 03. I hate what they did with the crank snout crap and also the iron heads. I'm a believer in DBW also
