I bought just the manifold from Kyle @ KB racing and built the rest of my kit myself. His manifold, while not being cast, is quite robust and a little bit cheaper than the Trick mani. It fit perfectly and even came with a v-band flange and clamp for the crossover pipe. I'd buy it again. He also responds to my PMs relatively quickly, although I've always heard that Trick is extremely quick to respond.

Ha! Thanks. I was typing that while in a conversation with someone! Should have double checked.

I went from STS to Trick front mount. I was going with a KB kit at first, but at the time he stop building kits for a while. I'm very happy with my Trick kit but like how the KB downpipe has a v band to make install easier. Trick has a one piece downpipe that takes time to slide in place and without the v band that's one less exhaust leak.

I still have turbine whistle out the tailpipe too. Here's a video.
Has a pt7675cea, 3" downpipe to 3.5" pipe to 4" corsa diesel muffler and tailpipe exits behind pass tire. Also has an exhaust cutout right after the downpipe.

Here it is with the cutout open

With and without muffler turbine whistle still can be heard. Good luck with your choice.

same experience i have received from Rick at trick.
X2 for the recommendation

I have always liked the design of the trick products and have always considered using the company first before others out there (a), now hearing more of this feedback is very reassuring(b) I like the fact that the company is now getting TV air time (c) these things are all helping me to start Putting some eggs in a basket for a decision. And like the OP stated how about comparison with the DP's would the V-Band pipe be easier or would you rather just slip it in

My DP sides in from the Top or bottom. The turbo side is always v band. Im not sure what the question is?

Are other brands two piece downpipes? For my 3 inch, it would be redundant. There is plenty of room and aligns with everything. Maybe 4 or even 5 inch would be nice with a v band in the middle but thats a serious turbo and combo for that size dp.

I know that the turbo is always a v band, I was asking wild you rather "bolt"
Up the crossover pipe to the pass side manifold or have a v band connection. And yes if there is a 2 piece dp anywhere, would you rather it be slip fit or v band. Pardon my confusion

never understood the slip fit on the downpipe. Once you crank down the clamp on the slip fit it's not coming apart again. You're left with a 1 pc downpipe. V band is superior IMO

the kit is very nice for my first turbo kit, it has fit very well and have not had to do any modifications to make it fit.

Kyle at KB will go out of his way to make things right and has treated me great from day one. I've had great results with his stuff (hot and cold pipes) to include my current 990HP build. I've also talked with trick and was happy with the service I received. You can't go wrong either way but my vote is with Kyle only because his stuff is under my hood and works.
