Default Launch + 4wheel drive @ 10psi = ?

I can luanch my truck in 4wheel drive at 6psi right now.

Has any body launched at 10psi?

I know that a 1/2 ton brake set won't hold up to 5psi but will a 3/4 ton hold up to 10psi?

I'm pretty sure parish8 did it while his 4L80E was stock:

I think was also done with a stock 4L80E:

Oh, all he did was a shift kit at the time.

I've done 10psi launches with mine. Gets me 1.83 60' times and a little bit of 4 wheel tire spin

We were doing 5psi launches with a Silverado SS 408 and all was good.
We had the converter restalled and when we stalled it up, it made it to 7psi and we broke the output shaft in half. This was with a 4l65e though.

I did one 10psi launch with the FLT l5 65E (and billet shafts) but the torque steer was so bad I never considered doing it again

I've seen an SSS launch from 15psi. I didn't know brakes had a boost level to hold back...

Yeah the 1/2 ton can hold 10psi. You have to learn the Sy/Ty shuffle...

Get up to the line
Mash the brake as hard as you can
Rev up to 4-5k
As the rpms drop push harder on the brake pedal

sy/ty shuffle works well. with that i was holding my truck back to 7-8psi with the 408 and pt88. it launched very hard. it is all about the tq you are making. the 4.8 i could take to 10psi easy, much higher i am sure but never tired. the 408 at 8psi was scary and i couldn't force myself to hold it back any higher than that.

the tq steer can be reduced by lowering the front end and using suspension limiters. i had to make a set by welding in some plates and using some rubber snubers. it worked well and seemed much less like it was going to break something.
