unless you can leave line with say 700 hp then turn it up on big end why sacifce your setup for lower gearing just to have faster spool?

id rather be at the finish line faster then be in boost longer. converter helps yes, so does transbrake but you still need gear. Doesnt matter if its turbo, super charger, n20 or NA you want to be in your peak power crossing traps.

so if you make peak power at 6k why would you gear your truck so it crosses traps at 4800 ? is it cause you read on the net that lower gearing is better for spooling? id rather be 5800 tru traps and have a better ET. Why do you think you see so many turbo trucks with great mph and shitty ET? gearing is main reason to that

for a 28" tall tire id run 410s, hell i will be 410s and 28" rubber and will be in the hood of 800+ rwhp
Unlike a lot of people I don't read something on the net and it be the truth. It is what I've seen first hand, done, and been apart of. I got to think about it and in my Camaro I was going to probably run a 3.23 or so. That is what a 27" tires and a t56. Trucks run a taller tire so a 4.11 in a truck would be about equal to what I'm used to with a car. IE Grand National came with 3.42s just for example

With 3.42 gears you'll be at approx. 2200 rpm at 70 mph.

3.73' will bump it up to approx. 2400 rpm
3.90's -- 2500 rpm
and 4.10's -- 2600 rpm

i've really been thinking about going 4:10's also. getting my heavy pig of the line is such a challenge. with a good 7-10psi launch i can bearly manage a 1.89 60ft.

Now that my set-up is in a single cab my max boost droped 5 psi due to not loading turbo enough. 4.10s were nice in the heavy extended cab but too violent on the regular cab. Burns tires at 1/4 throttle. Thinking of 342 or 373.
