On a hot day, with the engine under moderate boost, how cool is the coolant coming out of the stock Radix heat exchanger? How much of a benefit is a bigger, more effecient cooler? All of the blown engines that I'm familiar with (turbo diesels) have gone to air/air heat exchangers. I guess with a big enough heat exchanger you should be able to get close to the effeciency of the air/air units.

I do not have a way to measure IAT. I have towed twice now with moderate temperatures outside. The reason I am doing this is insure I do not get to hot of IAT's and start losing timing when I leave on my 3 week vacation. I don't want to worry about it. I already had to replace my rad when I was told I didn't need to. That being said it may be a waist of my money, but in my mind it will be worth it not to worry. And, what can it hurt? I should have shot the temps of the hoses with stock cooler and with larger one, but I didn't.
I also read somewhere the larger one may just delay the heat soak, not that I have any yet, or at least I think I don't.

At any rate, into Campbells in the morning for my tune - picking up vehicle Friday morning. Will keep you posted.

SWEET!! I can't wait to hear what you have to say!!
I found a way to get my truck and trailer into the 9.5 MPG mark. Drive at decent speeds, 100 to 110 km/h, and let it loose about 10 k on hills, try to stay out of boost by letting torque converter unlock or even manually put it in 3rd. Helped alot for me. First trip I was out was 6.5 MPG and I held it at 115 km/h everywhere. Now hopefully with this tune, when I hit a few PSI it won't pour the fuel out the tailpipe!
