L86/L83/LT1 Turbo Guys Chime In
#11
Oh ok I thought you were doing the LT5 cam and LT4 hpfp and inj. for sure. But to your point LT4 VS LT1 inj are only 15.7% more flow. HPFP is same on L83 and LT1. LT4 & LT5 are same. Fuel pump isn't taxed at 6-650 I don't think but inj are on the edge over 620 ish on 93 from everything I've seen at .82 Lamda and not over 6.0 pulse width on STOCK CAM. So... you'd be fine at 600 with the L86 stuff but E is not possible imo. For an E85 mix I'd definitely go bigger. E50-60 is where the fun is anyway but yes I'm going full 85. Mike at toohighpsi I am told was largely responsible for the 2650 from Mag. He's a genius. I don't think you need that for what you're doing though because it is total overkill and you still have to do the wiring and have a controller unless you do what I did and just buy a plug n play from someone like Crawford Racing or Vengeance and that's $$$. I chose CR. I'd stick to the DI.
Twins? I blame Rick lol. He built my setup on his 18 truck. 6L80...AMP's trans guy told me to change the converter and with Sam's tune just run it. When the clutches slip he'll rebuild it. Blower to turbo? I still DD my Whipple work truck and LOVE IT. Just want a GT500 killer and it's too heavy loaded to get there so I bought the 16. A cam with a bigger lobe is always a great idea and if you're going to go there I would do the drop ins too although rods are on backorder. I am starting to get exited again since my fuel setup is on it's way. Still a long way to go and I will share anything I know here a long the way. It will be this year. At what level IDK. Jim (parish 8) did 676 bone stock long block no cam on a junkyard L83 and 108k after drop ins and a healthy cam with his LT1 forged crank (not L83). Also have an LT1 sb in storge but needs machine work and rods so.....
