Default Know of Articles on selecting turbo sizes/options?

Been thinking about this for months now and have some extra money floating around.

Want to do A diy turbo build on the truck in the cig. Want it to be cheap without cutting corners. Looking to get 400-450 at the wheels so, correct turbo around 6-8psi with inter cooler should get me here....right?

The truck is a dd so I am looking for a turbo that will respond around 1500rpms and pull to 6000. I want it to perform like a supercharger, without the $6000 bull s*** price haha, and sexy turbo spool sound

I know the cam isn't great for a turbo but it is pretty similar to the ls6 cam, and the ls6 cam has great results with turbos.

Would like it to be a rear mount set up to keep the long tubes, probably will y pipe the exhaust into a 2.5" inlet and wrap the exhaust from the collectors back

It won't take much to reach your goals... Hell you're probably pretty close already with your mods. A 70mm would be more than enough.

These tech articles are from Garrett's website:

Basic - http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygar...Tech%20101.pdf

Advanced - http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygar...Tech%20102.pdf

Expert - http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygar...Tech%20103.pdf

There's some other good stuff on their website under the Turbo Tech section also.

Lt's will hurt performance with a rear mount..

a 62-65mm would work good

even for a simple FI build you will need to set aside 8k-10k

turbo kit, injectors, tune, trans, tq converter, rear end. and all the miscellaneous crap

you may not spend that much up front but it will find its way out of the bank.

Your goals would be much better met with a supercharger.

Upgrade your injectors and bolt on a supercharger. Your power goals are not that hard to meet.

trick has a kit for $3,300 70mm good to 500whp. Could sell my longtubes and put the money towards the fuel system. I dont think injectors come with it. What lb injectors would be plenty for 5-10psi 42lbs?

I know a supercharger would be more practical, but turbos are cooler not to hurt anybody's feelings haha
