Default Killer Chiller

Is anyone running this system?

What are the pros and cons?

Is there a better system?

I've been looking into it. Trying to find a cost effective and simple way to keep my LSA setup cool. Even though about running a big tank in the bed with water lines up to the expansion tank under the hood, but that's gonna be a bitch. Have you reached out to Killer Chiller yet?

LBSBLOWN ran one on his back awhile and was happy with it. I reached out to him a few years back and he said he had no regrets about buying one.

So the best I figure is you have to run the AC? Which shuts off at WOT and sucks up its own amount of hp too

its a neat idea. I never had heat issues with my P1 builds but I am curious to talk with them. They really are like a bike ride away from me. Nice pictures and nice stainless fittings!

If tou wanted my opinion, I wouldn't do it. More places to leak Freon and I don't see it being beneficial for what I do. Most ppl are yanking AC on their faster builds so this is total like highway/roll racing stuff. Imo

Joe's a nice, stand-up guy who's been building these for Mustangs for 20-something years... but we worked together for his first Corvette application (which he was so confident in his knowledge & ability on) - yet it took 6 months & almost 3x the install cost just to get the system together & working right (with my installer guiding him to a working design for the GM AC system). He tried to make things right & remade/shipped parts a couple times... but still a month after finally getting the car back, the race solenoid failed & hasn't worked since - meaning I've had no cabin AC for over a year now.

Not bashing the guy or his character - just noting how my car sits now & the journey that got it there, and if I ever get the time or money to work on it again, I'm taking it out.

There's an Australian company (FI Interchillers) that's been doing a similar GM-focused system for a while now with better success. Weapon-X also started developing a similar kit a couple years ago, but I ain't seen their results.

some pros to the setup are that (except for sustained use, e.g., road coursing, endurance races, etc.) the freon keeps the heat exchanger coolant pretty cold, resulting in relatively low IATs under boost. when Bret finally got to the point of dyno tuning my car (Dallas in May), i believe he was measuring 40-something° blower coolant temps that dropped the IATs to near ambient when cruising & only up to 110-120ish after some pulls... then cooling right back down.

the smaller your coolant reservoir, the faster you'll heat-soak the fluid, though. we built a ~2.5gal tank for mine.

Thought about a kit but my tuner just laughed at the idea. He told me to burn the money and save myself the time. Lol
