Default kbracing96 front mount conversion COMPLETE!

UPDATE 4/8/08...Kyle is now a sponsor and will be selling hot parts kits. PM him at kbracing96 for details

Got started today installing the new turbo parts that Kyle is making for me. Got the manifold, turbo, and cold side piping done.

Here's a pic of the manifold. It's so pretty

Turbo-to-intercooler piping is MUCH shorter and much more direct. No nasty bends and a lot less silicone couplers.

New manifold puts the turbo a few inches further forward than it was

I'm getting rid of one of the silicone couplers on the intercooler-to-throttle body side too. It's not welded yet, but you get the idea.

Plenty of clearance for the downpipe.

I like the new manifold for sure. It gets out of the way of the wires.

Don't hate! You're just jealous cause dirt doesn't like your engine enough to stick around

Lookin good. Is the crossover pipe going to be 2.5" or 3"? Keeping the 76mm turbo?

Same turbo, and I think the crossover will be 2.5". Downpipe will be 3.5", going into a cutout, then into the 3" Corsa system.

Looks good. Why the change? Or has that been discussed a million times already and I missed it. I know you had some issues with cracks in your manifold before.

Thicker manifold to resist cracking at higher boost levels, and a little bit better turbo placement for easier routing of the downpipe and cold side piping.
