KBracing, have you ever tested back pressure in the manifold? i ask just out of curiousity, as im build basically an identical log/setup, for a different vehicle(not FS truck)) and i was curious as to what my limitations are going to be down the road... was wondering if it got over 2:1??

i know that stock48 made some serioussss power with this setup.
and that makes me feel good, was just wondering tho.

im using a tc-78 .96 a/r t4 for now on a mostly stock((cam) LQ4, and would like to make 600rwhp,
and down the road id like to build a forged 370 and run a PT88 like stock48.
looking for mid 9s in a 3500lb ride...(with the pt88)

I have not done any back pressure testing. Every setup is going to be different based on what turbo, turbine, A/R, boost level, down pipe size, tail piping and muffler used, engine size, ect...

Understood, good point.

do you know what stock48 ended up making for power with the 76mm? Correct me if im wrong, i thought he went like 10.30 on the 76 before going 9.65 on the pt88>?

A lot of people seem to think they can duplicate stock48's times and power by using the turbo and engine combo. Most of them are in for disappointment, he has more drag racing experience and is also a professional engine builder, there is much much more to his success than just parts. There are people on here who have very similar combos as him, but run 1 or 2 full seconds slower. That being said, kb makes a great kit, I am running one of his kits myself and it works very well, easy to install, and functions very well.

thats also understandable, i dont expect to duplicate the same numbers. i absolutely hear what you are saying, i just wanna make sure theres reasonable evidence that this style setup will work, with relatively similar success...
i dont plan on making near the amount of hp he did, but looking for similar 1/4 mile e.t.s (high 9's) and im hoping it will be attainable because my truck weighs at least 1200 lbs lighter...

im working with a 99 reg. cab sonoma, LQ4, 4l80e..
so far with stock toque converter and a 150 shot it went 11.57 @116

KB's kit will make as much power as you want. With correct setup you be able to go a quick as you are wanting. You also have to take into consideration Jerret is 4wd running 4 ET streets. Your gonna need some good suspension work to put all that power to the ground and make it stick. So just cause you are lighter isn't a good comparison, kind of comparing apples to oranges.

i guess my question is more about the power potential, and you guys helped with that.

im not too awful worried about hooking the lighter, two wheel drive...
im not bragging by any means but it 60 footed a 1.70 with the stock third shock "traction shock" setup and a smallish 255/50/16 drag radial, with the 150 shot off the line, i plan on using cal-tracs and adjustable shocks this time around.
i dont think ill be using a trans brake, not at first anyways, which yes i know would be leaving some potential on the table...
we'll see how foot-braking it goes with a "small" tc78 turbine and a 3600-3800 converter....
id like to trap 140mph if nothing else.
this is a 7-day-a-week daily driver...
