Default J-Tube removal and install?

I am going to be installing my 90mm j tube and tb soon. I have read that it is better to take the whole maggie off and install it. I have also read that you could do it in place. Has anyone here done it in place or taken it off? If I take it off is it a good idea to take the lower tub off and clean it? Also can I use the old gaskets from the intake or buy new ones?

I took my stock 78mm J-tube off and also put the new 90mm J-tube on with the blower still mounted up. It was a bit of a challenge, but don't let anyone try to tell you you can't do it. You have to twist the J-tube at just the right angle for it to come out of their. During the first 20 minutes you try it your gonna get pissed! It's normal! Just be patient and eventually you will find that sweet spot where it twists on out. Oh by the way, this is for a mp112 on a 5.3. Other applications may vary.

I pulled one off on the truck. It was a pain but not that bad. Hard to see but just take your time. If I remember right three bolts on top two on bottom.

Why go through all that trouble when it literally takes 10 minutes to pull the blower? I dont have very good patience so pulling the blower would probably allow me to keep it functioning instead of getting pissed and breaking something
