What's everyone's opinion on the cam that's in the truck? I have mixed feelings about it and I don't know if I'd be better off with something a little more turbo friendly. Cams are not my strong point as of yet.

i went pretty nuts on it and had it on in a couple days. its a pretty well built kit everything went together smooth. i bent the **** out of my ac lines to get them where i wanted but it im happy with the result. i was smart and put a screwdriver through my ac rad which worked out not bad because i could wrap my ac line.

my valve stem seals were coming apart. so i pulled my valve covers and found more springs and washers, changed those, did a melling high volume pump while i was at it, and drilled and tapped a 5.3 pan i had laying around because i didnt like the way the first one came out.

all in all very happy with how it came out. still need to clean up some wiring, finish tuning and do some tweaking but it feels good. it was making 15 psi before id let off with the 6lb spring in the wastegate so idk whats going on there. 3 lb spring still made 10-12 so im going to try the 1.5lb spring when i get home from work. my trans cooler and manual boost controllers waiting for me too so ill take care of that. i dont know how far my single walboro 255 is going to get me any guesses how many psi before its maxed out?it spools pretty quick for an 80mm and it sounds awesome. im just running open downpipe right now but planning to try make a 4 inch dmax exhaust with an electric cutout work. ill post links to youtube of it running. when i finish tuning it ill get some good burnout vids =)
any questions or advice anyone has im open to. im 20 and still in the learning stages but i plan on maxing this turbo out on a forged 408 next year

Looks good
How do you have your waste gate vacuum lines set up?
That's a huge difference in spring vs actual.

Sounds like the bottom side of the gate is missing its plug for the second port.

Nicely done

And a dmax exahaust will work with minor modification to a bracket or 2. I got a cat back diamond eye performance with muffler for a dmax and its perfect imo. There was about a 3 foot gap between the cat back and my kb downpipe but a foot was taken up by a flex pipe so its pretty easy to put in

Alright update time! Trucks running good I've had a few problems with my oil dipstick popping out and then it broke off the bracket so a lokar is on the way. I've got full 4" dmax exhaust on it with two deisel mufflers in line. Four inch is a tight fit lol there's a QTP cutout next to the t-case that worked out really well actually I'll post pictures later when I get home. Tuning has been a bit of a process I'm a noob at it but its getting there. I've got 6* of total timing in it on 13psi does that seem about right on a 10:1 comp. engine? I feel like I should be able to run more especially with the colder weather but it starts showing KR at 7-8*. Meth injection is next on the list so that should help. The truck felt really strong with more timing in it. If thought I would've reached the end of what a single 255 can supply but the AF ratio is about 11-11.3 at wide open throttle. I feel like I'm about to grenade my diff lol but that's minor. Where's a good source for 6 bolt axels for a 9.5 inch 14 bolt?

I highly doubt you will break one of those axles. I have seen them hold up behind a 500+ HP motor spinning cut 39.5 boggers.

Thats really low timing, what fuel do you have in it? Do you have a EGT gauge?

I was thinking if I'm gonna build a diff i might as well go all out but the axels are the least of my worries.
I'm running 91 In it and yes I have an egt gauge. I can't get any higher octane in my little town. And this is canada with below 0* F temperatures I thought I'd be able to get more timing in it. The knock sensor setting haven't been touched yet either

Dipstick coming out.
That's too much crank pressure.
How's your venting on the engine?
