its in and running!!!

well i finally got it in. we did a little friday night but really got started on it sat. morning. we had to remove everything including headers and the alternator bracket so we could pull the heads to change the gaskets. thats what took the longest. once we got them back on it was a breeze until sun. morn. we were trying to get the evap line around the charger to plug into the front and it snapped the fitting at the back of the engine
. why in the hell do they make them outta that hard plastic and not rubber? anyway we rigged it up with some heater hose and clamps and it works ok. then we went to put antifreeze and water in and almost got done and water started pouring out of the back of the engine!
but to my relief it was the water lugs on the top back of the heads, cant think what they are really called but its the same ones as whats on the front that has the metal tube connecting them, but we screwed those little bastards in and that fixed it. and we finally got it cranked sun. night at 11:45. we really only spent about 16 hours doing the whole swap, and thats taking our time reading the instructions. but i couldnt run it for long because it was fouling the plugs due to no tuning. and come monday it wouldnt crank at all, so we had to winch it on the trailer. and ill stop now to thank Matt for all the help loading and towing it there and back for me. that was very cool and helpful, he is a very standup, nice guy and its a shame he's having to move in a couple of weeks. but anyway we got it to the dyno and made a baseline pull with the stock pulley and it did 377 and 402 on 6psi. then swapped pulleys to the 2.9 and got 399 and 448 at 9psi. then we swapped to the 2.7 and only got 405 462 at 11psi falling to 9.5 psi by 5200rpms. and it quit making power at 5600rpms? we were like what??? so they told me to changet the plugs to tr7s with about a .029 or .030 gap and it picked up 16hp and 40tq!! and the final numbers were 420hp and 502tq at 11psi falling to 9.5 by 5200rpms. thats with the converter unlocked and uncorrected. the corrected numbers are 440hp and 526tq
. thats a shitload of tq. and man does it feel great it chirps em at 60 and i cant hold it on the road from a low roll in 4wd!!
ill get the sheet up later. so what do you guys think? i think a better cam would make more power and would let it pull past 5600rpms.
damn sorry for the long post!

Wow thats amazing how much you gained from colder plugs, Ive heard of boost messing with spark but thats crazy did the tuner mess with the spark dwell?
I notice it says your heads are milled how much?
stock gaskets?
sounds like a beast

Chirping at 60 is fun though I cant seem to break 'em free in 4wd.

but he said the truck had more in it but he just wasnt able to do anything on the street because his laptop had crashed on him, and we were just tired of messing with it, it was like 4:30pm when we stopped and we started at 10:45. ill just drive it like this for awhile though.
