Default Intercooler w/ fan

I'm preping things for my SC install and it looks like my intercooler may not get that much air circulation through it. So I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of anyone putting a fan on theirs? I am aware of the mist kits but I'm thinking that a fan might do a pretty good job without the expense of filling a bottle.

I've been thinking of a similar situation. I'm curious to hear the replies.

There is no reason you can't do it, you just have to decide when you want it on or how you want it to turn on and off if not with the ignition. No big deal really.

I have mine wired to the brake lights- so it comes on when I am at redlights and such. I also have a manual switch where I can leave it on at the track.

It will really depend on just how little air flow you are getting across your intercooler. The fans will serve no purpose at all when not under boost. Under boost, where it's needed, the fans could actually become more of a restriction than anything. It certainly wont hurt to try it, but I would check the IAT' before and after.
I could see this being a benifit to the heat exchanger on a air/water setup, but just dont see it being worth it on air/air, unless the intercooler is placed where it literally is getting NO air flow across it.

The fan keeps my intercoooler from getting heat soaked while not under boost. After say a 1/4 mine run, the intercoooler can soak up alot of heat, and my fan cools it to ambient while I am sitting idle. But with the placement of mine, I dont have the engien fan pulling air through it at idle.

Cool idea on having your fans trip when you brake

I just finshed a dual efan setup on a set of dual H/E'ers, should be a good setup in traffic and in the staging lanes
