Default Intercooler mounting

How do you guy have your intercooler mounted? Please post up some pics on how you have your installed. I can’t decide if I want to mount it where the grill is or under the front bumper.

2002 I do not think is enough room for a good size ic. Behind the bumper is good, if you can get the air to it.

There wasn't near enough room on my 01 behind the grill. I mounted mine between the frame rails behind the bumper. You can get a 20X12X3 (core size) intercooler off of Ebay for around $60 and a piping kit for about $70 all new. I pieced mine together for under $250 (mostly shipping cost) with parts off of ebay and it works great. At 8psi I only see about 10 degrees over ambient during a 0 to 90 run. Cruising around town and interstate it runs 2-4 degrees above ambient.

I mounted mine down low too...had to channel the frame up front to get it to fit high enough, then used the top holes to bolt through the lower radiator support.

What do you mean you had to channel the frame up front?

I'll take pics later...sorry I couldn't answer when you called, I'm in class.

Basically just notched the inner sides of the frame to allow the intercooler to fit between them.
