Intercooler & MAF
#1
I know this will be considered a dumb question but I am a beginner in the Intercooler world. I am adding an Intercooler to my truck, where does the MAF go, right after the air box or after the Intercooler. I am thinking after the intercooler so the IAT is accurate. I have seen set-ups with an Intercooler and the MAF before it. What is the right way???
Also this is what I have for a MAFhttp://www.granatellimotorsports.com...ay.php?gid=102.
My stock one always put the truck into limp mode, I replaced it with this one and has been fine for 3 years now. Will an intercooler help more even though this MAF has cold air tuning built into it?

I would put it as close to the throttle body as you can (i.e. after the intercooler like you said)
And yes, the Granatelli tricks the PCM into thinking you have colder air than you really do, which basically disables the IAT spark retard in the PCM and gives you more timing. You'll want a real intercooler for REAL cold air (not faked cold air). In all honesty, you'll probably want a stock MAF again or a separate IAT sensor. Once you go forced induction with a custom tune the Granatelli trick becomes useless anyway, and it's really important for you to know your actual IAT.

I still have my stock MAF. Do you know why the Stock one would throw the truck into Limp mode? Also is there a prameter to change that will prevent the MAF doing this. I have EFI Live.
