intake charge temp is to high with radix
#1
just found out earlier that i need meth injection cuz my intake charge temp is at 209degree's and im losing alot of top end. and need to drop to about 115-125 degree's. cuz i went racing and my 60ft is 1.77-1.84 its good but my mph out the 1/4mile is 97-98mph not good. i should be running low 12's with these 60ft times and the intake temp cooler

Meth will definately help, but high temps are always going to be a killer with the radix. I would not shoot for the best times in hot weather.
The reason you are probably trapping less mph is because the high intake temps minimize the amount of timing you can run. The whole point of meth is to keep intake temps down, add some octane, and ultimately more timing.
I doubt meth will get your temps to 125-130 with high outside temps, 90+ degrees. The radix generates a ton of heat. My temps with the aluminum heat exchanger are about 110-120 and then climb to about 150-160 after WOT pass to 100 mph in 75 degree weather.
What were your times?

I heard that the Radix I/C was pretty good at heat Xchange.....hmmmmm. I have never heard complaints like that before. Maybe a larger radiator is what you need? I went from 108* up to 122* on a WOT pass of almost a 1/4 mile. Outside temps that day were 96*-97* and humid. Dmax I/C kicks ***.

In 80* heat ambient, I see 130 max at the end of the track spraying 50/50 meth through the radix. Start temps are in the 120's
In 55* ambient, I see 100-110 at the end. A better time by .25 as well

With my 3" pulley, I was in those kind of numbers. Too bad I don't have many logs as proof or experiment on it. But I put that 2.8" pulley on there and it put me in a different realm of IAT's at WOT. Now, I only have hot weather comparisons, which bring up my question about all of this...I wonder what the "curve" looks like on IAT vs Ambient? At the track, 98* Ambient, my IAT was 160* at the light and at 200* at the end.
IMO, I had an agressive IAT Spark table which pulled 8* (from 20*) on this. I have found that this is too much timing to pull. I haven't found knock yet, but with 200*IAT I am getting away with 15 to 16* of spark. NO METH on my numbers, it's under repair as soon as I get to it.Whiiiiiiiich brings me to whoopassracer's original post. I am pro-meth but who's too say just because your IAT is causing timing pull you need meth just yet? Again, don't get me worng, great investment. But in the tuning world I have mroe questions, what is your commanded spark? Are you at 1.2 g/cyls(guessing so with the smaller pulley)? You a 5.3L? 10lb means...2.8? What was ambient temp when you saw 209*?
Meth won't drop temps too much. Unless you add some water.
again, my disclaimer, get a meth kit anyway if you are into modding more, but I am curious just how agressive your IAT spark is and what timing you are after. I am learning (through my own tests, I know each vehicle is different) that my IAT "borderline" hot definition is a little agressive.

I have an aggresive timing vs IAT table as well. I was running a 3.1 pulley, about 8.5lbs of boost, with 19 degrees of timing. After 165 degrrees I was running something like 13 degrees of timing.
I was running 13.6's in 90 degree weather with IAT's past 200. Curious to see what it would run in the cold with cooler IAT's and the full of 19 degrees of timing.
A 3.0 pulley on a 5.3 is 10 lbs.
