Default Installation Help Need

Im in the middle of installing the STS kit on my 04 Denali XL. I ran into a snag installing the walbro intank fuel pump gss340. When I pull the fuel bucket out of the tank the factory fuel hose is shape like a orcordian which is attached to the barb fitting on the fuel pump. Do I rip the factory hose off and buy a new replacement or is there a trick to removing the hose without destorying it? Or is there a better way of installing the unit? I have used the search tool and have come up empty. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Richard

you need to get "fuel injection" hose to replace it. Anything else will fail.
The factory plastic line is almost impossible to make work.

With the fuel injection hose, were you able to still compress the fuel bucket without kinking the fuel line? That what im most worry about.

Was this part of your kit? If so, didn't the pump come with a new flex hose and clamps? The corrugated hose supposedly also helps to smooth out fuel flow and reduce noise. I don't know of ayone who sells those hoses separately in small quantities unless you are buying a pump. Maybe someone else does.

At the time I brought the kit they only offer a inline or msd boost a pump. They did not offer a intank unit. I had brought my STS kit last year and finally had time to install it.

TRT is right. Use some good fuel injection line and test it by pressing on it before you install it. Mine has been going strong for months now.
