Injectors for Maggie w/ Flex Fuel

I have the MP112 on my flex-fuel L59 5.3 and i have maxed out the stock injectors. Just wondering if anyone makes a direct replacement for my application? Heard talk of having to possibly get pigtail adapters or something but not sure.

SILVERADO11 06-11-2010 09:05 PM

X2, good question.

supersub 06-13-2010 09:30 PM

they are an ev-6 connector, you could use the ford racing LU-60,Or LU-80 with the same ev-6 connection, a 1/2 spacer under the fuel rails will fix the differance in height.

Or 1/2 phenolic spacer between the manifolds and also lower your Iat's as well.

Flex fuel injectors using an EV6 connector

Here is a vendor list of injectors to choose from. Choose one with an EV6 connector or you can purchase an adaptor pigtail from them.
http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/domes...uel-injectors/
I spoke with a tech there and he told me that the EV6/U.S. car connector are the same type. I too will be upgrading soon.

Do the flex fuel vehicles have a different connector?

I thought all the NBS trucks used Multech style injectors.

04gibbstahoe 06-14-2010 01:51 PM

Yes the flex fuel 5.3s (l59) have a different injector connector than the standard 5.3s (lm7). It seems that the flex fuels are gonna take the EV6 connection. The question now is how long are the stock injectors, because you can buy an EV6 style injector in all different lengths........

Mini 60's are 2", flex fuel stockers are 2 1/2", and the tall boy's are 3".

hope that helps.

the guys at fuel injector connection are also very helpful and good prices.

Doobie 06-15-2010 05:26 PM

FYI Can't use any injector shorter than 2.5" or the fuel rails will have to be trimmed/milled.

TX Tahoe Z71 06-15-2010 05:47 PM

Subscribed. Let us know what you find out about a direct replacement.

supersub 06-16-2010 04:20 PM

ford racing gt-500 injectors would be a direct fit,plug -n-play 50+ psi I believe.

04gibbstahoe 06-17-2010 11:07 AM

So no ones had to replace the injectors in a flex fuel l59 yet? No one knows the part number and/or vendor for a direct replacement?

TX Tahoe Z71 06-17-2010 12:05 PM

What injector duty cycle are you at WOT?

04gibbstahoe 06-17-2010 12:59 PM

106%...........

TX Tahoe Z71 06-17-2010 01:20 PM

I'm at 95% with the mods in my sig, 3.3" pulley. I'm looking to throw a cam in there and want to be on the safe side of the injectors.

Ford Racing # M-9593-G302 47# @ 39.15 psi

thats @ 55# @ our psi levels same connector and same height of the stock flex fuel injector, thats as close to plug n play as you can get.

these injectors come in the new ford GT.

I am running the New 80# injectors with the USCAR connectors and mine is also flex fueled

TX Tahoe Z71 06-17-2010 09:15 PM

What are the stock FF injectors rated at? I have heard 38 but never verified it.

04gibbstahoe 06-18-2010 08:08 AM

They are 33 lbs.

Ugh, weak

04gibbstahoe 06-18-2010 12:50 PM

Has anyone else tried these stock GT500 infjectors on the l59 flex fuel motors?

04gibbstahoe 06-21-2010 02:58 PM

No one else has any other ideas for flex fuel replacement injectors?

TX Tahoe Z71 06-21-2010 04:19 PM

I think JennaBear upgraded her stock FF injectors, but with what I do not know.

Doobie 06-22-2010 11:15 AM

Flex fuel system(vin. Z) operates at a lower pressure than a non-ff(vin. V,T,U) system and this needs to be taken into consideration for proper sizing of injectors. My service manual fuel press. specs for testing with ign. on and engine off are;
FF engine 48~54 psi
non-FF engine 55~62 psi
I'm currently at 110% IDC with mods in sig using my stock ff injectors so I will be upgrading soon. My AFR at WOT is 11.5 and remains stable but I know it is taxing my injectors.

Doobie 06-24-2010 01:37 PM

I'm going with these injectors;
http://www.blueovalindustries.com/en...el/en7700.html
The price is incredible and free shipping too! :D
Our flex injectors are an EV14 body style with a uscar connector so they will be a direct replacement. Same length too. I will try and find the chart that explains this better including dimensions, will post up.

Thanks supersub

TX Tahoe Z71 06-24-2010 01:48 PM

Very cool. So what will they flow with our FF psi?

Be sure to post up how fitment is.

Doobie 06-24-2010 04:17 PM

These injectors are rated at 47 lbs./hr. at 39.15 psi.
Same injectors at 50 psi(FF) should flow 53.06 lbs./hr.

Hope this helps. I won't get around to installing these until July or Aug..

You get those yet? I am dying to get new injectors so I can go E85.

Doobie 07-15-2010 01:43 PM

Yes, I have them but have not had the chance to install them yet. I'm busy installing new 40k trans. cooler and relocating my Radix intercooler.

TX Tahoe Z71 07-15-2010 01:57 PM

Hurry up!!! :judge:

Also, check out this thread for h/e and trans cooler ideas if you haven't already...

zippy 07-15-2010 09:57 PM

What ever you buy make sure you get some with the injector offset and pulse adder numbers available to you. You could check into LS3 or LS9 injectors. If I recall correctly they are a bit taller, but should just plug right in. Other than that you could use Motoron 60's with injector plug adaptors. Going that big will also allow you to run E85 with a mild 5.3L and a Radix.

That is a killer price, looks like those may be in my near future, have you installed them yet? if so how do you like them? if not, put them damn things in so we can get your opinion on them :D

If you need any help tuning them in just call. I should be able to get the offset voltages and stuff from work.

Doobie 09-15-2010 04:46 PM

Thanks zippy. Should be installing them this month. Just finished adding another HE in series with the stock magnuson HE. I also have a cooling fan on this one that I need to wire up yet. This will be controlled with a relay and a toggle switch from the cab. Will post back on this thread as soon as these injectors are installed then it will be time to pulley down.

TX Tahoe Z71 09-15-2010 05:08 PM

Cool, thanks for the update. I am going to try to install my higher flowing Meziere i/c pump this weekend with some before and after IAT readings.

Doobie 09-25-2010 07:05 PM

Injectors are in and they plugged right in to the flex fuel connector. They are also the same length as the FF injectors and plugged right into the fuel rails without any issues, Good to GO! Started right up but I haven't adjusted the tune yet as I'm having problems with my laptop staying on. I unbolted the coil pack brackets and pushed them down and out of the way. Take out the 6 bolts holding the fuel rails in place and replace injectors. I did not have to remove the fuel lines and just left them hooked up to the fuel rail. Very straightforward and simple swap.

TX Tahoe Z71 09-27-2010 02:24 PM

Awesome! Thanks for the PM. Let us know how it is after you get the tune dialed in.

AKlowriderZ71 09-27-2010 02:40 PM

I have a BNIB set of these injectors for sale in the classifieds.

TX Tahoe Z71 11-29-2010 11:55 AM

So I picked up AKlowriderZ71's injectors for a great price (big thanks to him  ) and sent them to Jon at Fuel Injector Connection and he modified them to flow 75lbs. at 53psi (Flex Fuel pressure at WOT) for $25 per injector ($200 for the mathematically challenged). Jon said these are some of the best injectors you can buy, he preferred them to the Bosch ones that he sells. He accomplishes the higher flow by enlarging the holes in the plate on the bottom of the injector, so it maintains its original characteristics but flows more.

I went with 75lbs. because I am going to have it tuned for E85, pulley down to 3.0" (3.3" now) and still want to leave some room for a cam down the road. I haven't had a chance to install them yet, but will post up when I do.

Doobie 11-29-2010 02:17 PM

Thanks for your update and post back up with results. Mine have worked very well and I'm pleased with results. :chug:
