Default If you have a Transgo HD2

I recently installed a magnacharger and i am trying to beef up the tranny. I went to a transmission shop and asked them for a quote to put in the corvette servo and Transgo HD2 Shift kit. He told me that was overkill and he had to "drop the tranny out to install". Is this normal? He quoted me $175 to supply and install a generic shift kit that he could install from the bottom. He suggested if i was going to drop the tranny might as well just upgrade the clutches before it busts(1000$). How much upgrading is needed with a magnacharger? Would like to stay below the $500 range....... any input?

Stock pulley? Not planning on upping boost at the moment? The HD2 kit does not need to have the trans dropped as I recall, neither does the servo. Go to another shop

$1000 just to replace the clutches sounds like BS too. Also suggest finding another shop.

I think you only need to drop the pan for the kit.

Agree here as well. You can do servo and shift kit with it still in the truck.
Hell I think even an F-body can do a servo with it still in the car.

Stock pulley... 3.4 It was dynoed at 375 to the wheels at 7.4 psi. There is also a wet 55 shot that has never been used at all even to dyno but is just for that special occasion! It is the largest transmission shop in my area. I do have a "TAHOE FLEXFUEL" which I feel is a MUT nothing seems to work easy for it. I tried to install the servo and couldnt get it out the frame is too close. Trever1t did my truck come with stock 38lb injectors? Is it worth going generic shift kit or is transgo superior?

I also don't see how a servo and shift kit is "Overkill" on a stock trans and a Magnacharger.
Considering the damn thing can barely hold up to bolt ons.

Flex fuel injectors are 38lb. Most here would recommend the transgo HD2 kit with a vette servo for an upgrade. I watched a tranny guy install these in my tranny and he only dropped the pan. Changed the seperator plate and accum. pistons while in there at the same time.

Actually, the HD-2 does come with a set of springs for one of the clutch packs, that they call there "high rev kit" that does require the tranny to be out to install. I don't think most people use them, but your gona need the shift kit and vette servo to have any kind of life out of that tranny.
