Default IAT sensor making truck run rich??

so over the past week or two my truck has started to run rich (lots of black smoke under heavy acceleration) then just 2 days ago it threw a code so i hooked up my reader and it said "IAT sensor high voltage" or something to that effect. so i did a little research on the code and it said it can mess up the air/fuel and cause the black smoke and stuff.... does this sound right to you guys? truck is a 07 (NNBS) sierra with the 4.8, cammed and supercharged. thanks for any help!

If it's always reading like -40 degrees it can throw things off.

I would fix the issue and see what happens.

It will absolutely throw things off... your tune is set to dump a shitload more fuel and cut timing when it thinks the IAT's are really high. Its a safety mechanism to make sure that detonation doesn't kill it.
