Larger pipe is actually less surface area to dissipate heat over. However, if the engine bay is hotter than the air inside the pipe, this is a good thing.

I dont have any accurate answer for mine since I never run high boost without meth. But mine would usually stay steady or rise 5 degrees or so in a 1/4 run with the meth, so it basically holds the temp constant. My temp sensor was in the back of the intake so as far away from the meth as possible.

So,Tim, tell us about this intake tube set up thats drastically reducing ur IAT. I dont have any 1/4 mile data for u but im interested to see what u have set up.

I'm new to all this boosted/intercooled/meth crap...what kind of IAT do you guys typically see over ambient temp? it's between 95-100 ambient here in texas and at part throttle out of boost I'm seeing 15x range IAT temps. seems hot, but it's also very hot outside.

With the turbo it would usually cruise 15 degrees or so hotter, and with the blower its around 30 degrees hotter than ambient. I am hoping for the same results with the blower as the turbo with using meth to stabilize the temps and keep them from skyrocketing.

150 out of boost is terrible, and you first need to address whether that's an accurate temp reading and if so, intercooler needs to be assessed.

At the track I'm seeing staging lane IATs in the 120s. On the street my temps are at best 10-15 over ambient going down the highway. People say the sensor gets heatsoaked, but shouldn't the actually sensor filament be isolated from the metal housing?
