Default I Like Boost... My Stock Cats Don't...

Does anyone know of a CA smog legal replacement catalytic converter or the reality of the smog inspection station looking at the cats? It seems like every time I get into boost they start stinking pretty bad which I think is probably a bad sign. I have seen the Magnaflows advertised but I havn't heard anyones opinion about them. So my options are to remove them, run non CARB legal replacements or Magnaflows.

I don't know about in Cali, but the solution out here would be to tune them out, and chuck 'em.

I agree. After fussing with 3 sets of cats, I am now hollow.

Kind of what I was thinking. Alot cheaper than high flow cats that's for sure. I'll probably weld up an ORY to take them off now I will probably still have to buy another set to replace my stock ones for my smog check coming up in 09. Was the cabin noise increase noticeable when you guys took them off?

STOP!
lol, I have the Magnaflow hi-flow cats and they work fine. Having no cats in CA is good for a $2000 fine plus referee inspections for ever. At least with the Magnaflows you might get by the visual.

BUT

Smelling rich when you are in boost is normal, I mean you are running rich hopefully.

I agree with that, if you do it nice and clean they can't tell the difference without sticking a sniffer hose up your ***....
