Great thats more good news to me, only I have a tad more comp 9.8-1 so I have to back off on timing, but would love to put 550 down on the rollers.

Ya my 383 is only 7.8:1, but I was able to run 35* of timing. The engine picked up almost 60HP 30* vs 35*. With 9.8:1 You better start with like 15* and work up from there.

Thanks man. I will put all my trust into my tuner, I am not up to date with the hp tuners-or efi live yet. I also have read about higher comp and less boost, being better then lower comp and high boost, but havn't got back into finishing up to why it is better, but will be doing so.. Again thanks man

Will work if you plan on spinning the engine up to 65K or more. You will need at least a 4.10 or better a 4.56 gear. I like that one better than the HOT cam I think it will make more torque. Why don't you find a 5.3, put the cam in that, and save your 4.8 incase you ever sell the truck or something? You can pick up 5.3's cheep if you look.

Just got the 4.8 and swapped it in, and i wont be trading this truck any time soon, just checked today, we owe about 6k on it, i bought the thing new, and i believe in working with what you have, i have a 4.8, im not looking to be the fastest, just want to have some fun. I am going to do the cam, then bolt ons, then do the drivetrain, i plan on a T-56 and 4.10's, but the 4.10's will most likely go in first with a new diff while i have the 5 speed.

As I already told you I think anything over 212@.050 is bigger than I would run in a combination like yours, but you seem to like the bigger cams. 215 isn't to far past my recommendation. What price did those guy's give you? PM me so we don't ***** up this guy's thread.
