Default how many miles and what pulley on radix lq4

I'm just trying to get an idea of how much life I'm going to take outa the motor when I pulley down to a 2.8 or 2.9. I don't want this to be a "how much boost can my lq4 take" I just want people experiences with what boost/pulley size/motor/ and how many miles they have on the combo and if the motor puked, etc

The Truck I got my supercharger from had a 2.75 on a 2004 Denali with a 75hp wet shot..... He had it on there from 20k to 60k with no issues. Dynatech Longubes and stock catback dual in/single out. K&N open element. "AND JUST A SERVO IN THE TRANNY"......

To be fair I don't daily drive my truck anymore. I also only run the nitrous and meth at the track. But my 2.8 pulley has been on for about 5 years. In that ~5yrs the 6.0 went in my truck at I think it was 76K miles. MAYBE it was 81K. It's now at 150K. I am hard on it (ask any of my friends here on pt.net that know me or have driving near me(not many will drive with me LOL)) and I would say the secret to longevity is don't run the afr on the brink (11.6). Pull timing as it gets hot. And contrary to what you hear, the main reason it has lasted so long with those items just listed...its under 10#'s of boost. :p

You are under 10# with a 2.8? what exhaust/cam/heads are you using?

I'm at 7# with the 3.1 and was going to use the 1# per .1" rule and shooting for just about 10#

What AFR should I shoot for... right not it varies between 10.8 and 11.1 or so

2600 Suncoast TC, TransTech4L80E, '02 PCM upgrade,Patriot Stg 2 Heads (2.02/1.57),TVS1900(2.8 Pulley),custom 224/228 568/571 114,meth inject to wet a 75 shot of nitrous,dynatech hdrs,gutted cats,4.1 gears w/Eaton LSP,HPT-EIO,DynoJet WB, and tuned by the seat of my pants.

My signature on hptuners, LOL. Nope, with the radix I was averaging 8.5ish#'s. In the dead cold, yes, ~10#'s, maybe 9.7ish, give or take .3 (gauge error)

terravast4, the beauty of that 5.3 as you know, smaller surface area to jam same amount of air into, hence more resistance, more boost.

There could be tons of debate on the boost and longevity, but I am very comfortable saying keeping it at or under 10#'s with cool cylinder temps and no kr and it will be fine for a while. These motors have proven themsleves to take a good licken.

On the street you didn't run meth... how was the iats with the 2.8? I don't really think I'll ever make it to the track and on the street I don't lay into the throttle long enough to really raise iats now.

the meth really didn't help IAT's as much as it is cracked up around here. I don't have any scans to prove it, but that 112 just makes some heat. I might have got 5* of help from the meth...MAYBE. I was using alot too. I was using it as octane boost and my wet part of the nitrous.

On the street the octane boost is what helps imo.
