Im debating that....dont plan to right now since the intercooler cannot move backwards (even slightly) due to the trans cooler behind it, and cannot move forward (maybe 1/8") due to the little bracket thing I had to clearance on the back of the 99-02 grille. I have it bolted to the bottom support thing. With the pipes hooked up it is even more solid and I have faith it will not be going anywhere.
As far as the integrity of the hood latch staying down I dont think it will be an issue since I didnt touch the welds on the bracket.

Im doing the same thing on mine right now, I didnt like how loose the hood latch felt when I cut the a frame so I built me some custom brackets I think will work out ok. Ill try and get a few pics and post them up soon.

Not to thread jack but has anyone started having problems with their a/c after installing a big intercooler in front of the condenser? Also has it effected how cold your a/c will get?

Not that any of my customers have called. You are restricting air flow to the ac core slightly, but if your fans are up to the task your good.
The key is to keep all the cores, inter cooler ac and radiator all clean. any one have trash, bugs etc blocking flow would hurt over all flow.

Yea right... I think I blew a speaker this summer because I had to turn the volume all the way up while driving down the highway with the windows down
