How far will 42#ers take me?

700rwhp on 42s... Hmmm. Don't but it
On a 2wd (so assuming 800 flywheel), 80% IDC = 65lbs/hour (rated at 43.5psi) on 58psi of FP. Now meth will buy you a little bit, but not 23lbs/hr... As I understand them, boost-a-pumps can't raise your fp, just keep it steady, so they are no help in this.
I ran my 600rwhp setup (awd, so it was around 800 flywheel) with an intercooler and meth and didn't have enough injector with 60lbers to turn it up much more (and ruined the run with a small fire
). Oh yeah, twin 255lph walbros too. Granted I didn't run two meth injectors like Jim did and didn't get a chance to crank up the meth as high as Jim did, but still. I did have a street meth tune in there (meaning I tuned the meth controller on the street).
42lbers are TINY injectors for boost guys. TINY as in the bare minimum...
And 14psi on an LQ9 is probably a dead LQ9 Cody (unless you are doing internals). Sooner or later anyway. It's been a couple of years but we did some gazintas on SSS and figured 15psi is the bang limit on the stock LQ9. I personally think 12psi on an LQ9 is asking for trouble -- you need a perfect tune every second your at 12 psi... No room for heat, overboost, etc, although its probably worth close to 80-100hp on as STS.

Erik I have an LQ4 so I figure that buys me a # or two also. How do I activate teh second pump on a dual intank setup? I know in one of the pms you said some kind of switch but I have never heard of one nor used one. Also how is teh second pump mounted sicne obviously it doesnt have a cradle? Looks like I need to install a second intank pump and some 60#ers to get me 12#s and then meth to crutch me along any higher. I got nitrous too so...

You can use a hobbs switch on the srconf pump. Kit is going out tomorrow. I had business meetings ALL Day, I only have 2 tomorrow. Then I thinking of heading ofer to the dealership to scope out my new ride and if Im going demod or keep as is.

Never been on the dyno, but according to weight and trap speed I'm at 600rwhp with Eriks 43 lbers and meth. I have a set of 60s if I ever get a chance to change the wiring and install them. Best to go ahead and do the 60s now rather than doing it twice.

I tend to agree. I did it originally to save the pump, etc., but if one fails you still gotta drop the tank

Mine does cavitate at low fuel readings (1/4 tank) so it's nice to not have the 2nd pump on if I run it that low on fuel (just have to stay out of boost to keep pump #2 off).
Cody, both mine are in the cradle
It ain't pretty though The LQ4 will buy you some breathing room on the boost and tune, but I'd still cap it at 12-13psi.

Do you (or CB) know your peak IDC for those runs? I would love to hear that you are in the 80s with the meth, that would be a kick *** gain from the meth.
You guys run 100% meth, right? Two 15s or a single?
