the filters are letting in unmetered air thats not measured by the maf.

It can be filtered on the passenger side, but not the driver side correct?

Filters on the valve covers does not mean its letting in unmetered air, are you pulling any vacuum on the crankcase at all? Make sure you don't have any open vacuum ports on the intake.

Probally. I know for a fact since I changed injectors about a year ago. I wanna ditch the maf and go SD.

How do I know if its pulling vacuum on the crankcase. The truck idles at around -17 if that's what you mean.

Do you have any vacuum lines running from anywhere on the intake to anywhere on the motor as in to valve cover, valley cover etc?

Have you tested your fuel pressure to make sure the pump isn't weak?
