Wow - it did not even take until morning. Just took it out for a spin and all seems well. How bizarre is that? Just going through an automatic carwash can cause havoc with your procharged ride!

I wish I had the dough when Allen had his hands on the whip to put the turbo on!

I am thinking maybe I need to relocate the air intake to prevent a future fiasco in a driving rainstorm, as I have not really been out in one yet with the Escalade.

Has anyone else ever had this issue???? Or am I the only one with crap luck. If it was water intake, I hope I did not bugger up anything too badly, although as soon as things started going south, I did not push it too hard.

At any rate, I hope it runs as well in the morning as it did tonight! Fingers crossed!

the spot that the procharger pulls air from is FAR from ideal, it pulls hot air from the engine compartment, and obviously the rear of the hood on your truck is fine in the rain, but forced water gets past the gasket at the rear of the hood (the rubber gasket is there right? should run across the metal seam left to right) Was the truck running, idling, throttled while it was in teh auto car wash? I'm a little surprised because an engine sucks some air in at idle, but nothign compared to WOT. Really seems shitty if it sucked it in at idle or shut off to cause the problems you described.

I drove my sub through 4-6 inches of water along a beach road that was flooding at high tide........at around oh.....40-50 mph because there's something wrong in my head. I felt it starting to injest some water so I backed off the throttle and coasted thru it (we're talking a solid 8th mile) I was doing hydroplane research or something....only time in about 6K miles its injested water. I never had a problem with auto carwashes or heavy rain though. Of course my tahoe would suck in water on wet roads and heavy puddles because I had the cold air inlet just outside the frame rail tucked low to get fresh air. figured a 3 inch inlet over 3 ft long and close to vertical would let most of the water relax and not suck it all in, but I guess the big motor just sucks everything up in sight.

That's the same procharger set up I have and never had a problem with water... If yours has an intercooler like mine you should check all the ducting ,that could be your problem. My intake tube blew off once and acted just as you mentioned.

Indeed I was just idling in the carwash. The carwash sprays a pretty agressive stream of water at the top and side of the vehicle as it is moving around the vehicle to wash off the soap.

I have never had an issue with the maggied Denali in that same wash.

Oh well lesson learned.

Mine is the same as yours except I only am making 5 lbs of boost .

I will check out the intercooler ducting for sure to see if all in intact. Thanks for that suggestion.

Interested in something like this. Never had a problem with H20 and the AIT ran cooler.

Thanks, Rick

make sure the gasket along the top edge of the firewall under the hood is there, it might be your cause of the problem...

I would be if I did not have a Snow meth kit where the snout of the intake would go......

I am not sure where I might reroute. Nice kit though!

Thanks
