Check the seal on the fitting going in to the brake booster. Mine got jacked a little and was leaking causing it to make noise.

Come to think of it... You had a check valve between the engine and the brake booster, no?

You should have Hydraboost, no vacuum involved with it.

started driving home tonight, no whistle. a few miles into the drive the whistle started. with the whistle comes poor throttle response. Example: cruising at 40mph, drop it into 3rd, i feel/hear the trans shift, i could FREE REV to 3000rpm.

uh, that can't be normal. WTF is going on?
