If this is still happening 3 days after this happen to you, Maybe your driving the truck is only making the situation worse. Guess all is still not right with your truck

Example for those interested: fired the truck up last night after work (12hr day), ran smooth, awesome throttle response, awesome idle, NO whistle. (keep in mind I never went over 40mph cause i was in the middle of UNH campus)

I got about 2 miles from the parking lot and came to a stop light. It idled for about a minute then stalled. I put it in N and fired it back up. It didn't want to start. I had to give it throttle. Idled like *** crack and ran like **** the rest of the way home. Whistle came back.

under those conditions it had no nut. if I got into the gas at all it made boost and power, but something felt way wrong. It would make a ton of noise(whistle, rpm increase) but just wouldn't go. Very difficult to explain.

I haven't touched/changed anything. I just drive it. Half the time it's a joy to drive and the other half of the time I want to smash it into the biggest tree I can find.

Clearly something is changing that is out of my control. Heat related issue? Not sure. I'm gonna try to get a vacuum test next week. Not even sure where else to look for issues.

maybe. it's my only mode of transportation though so that's a problem. driving 7mi each way to work at under 40mph and no boost(most of the time) is the best I can do to prevent further issues.

It was supposed to be out of respect, but as I thought about it, it seemed to be the opposite, so I changed it.

do like i did. warm up the engine till you get the squeal. get take off air tube and put your hand over the throttlebody. it will squeal right before it dies if there is a leak. then just listen for it.

UPDATE: I had a co-worker drive it to the transmission shop today. Shop owner called and said the trans is definitely slipping and the fluid is burnt. He said he THINKS it's smoked. GREAT!!! 3rd gear is almost gone as far as i can tell. On the way home a few min ago I put it in 3rd and it felt like I was in Neutral. could rev to 4000rpm this time. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
