Default Going back to stock cam?

I currently have a Isky 212/212 0.561/0.561 114LSA cam and have been thinking about going back to a stock cam. It's my daily driver and this cam has more lope than I anticipated, it is definitely noticeable. I do like the smoothness of the stock cam. This cam also didn't pass smog, I had to jack up the idle speed to 800rpm, lower the timing, and add denatured alcohol to get it to pass. There were no mechanical issues, and it passed with flying colors just two years before with the stock cam.

What kind of power loss and turbo spool might I expect to lose by going back to the stock cam?

Stock cam specs:
190/191 int/exh @ 0.05" duration 0.466" / 0.457" int/exh lift 114 LSA

I'm interested in this too. Im running the stock cam in my lq4, and wonder how much I'm leaving on the table with this cam. What did you shift the 212 at?

Which part of smog did it fail? If it was hydrocarbons you would actually want to increase timing. NOx stuff decrease timing. Denatured alcohol is also known as E85...its ethanol denatured with gasoline

It failed HC. Lowering the timing is supposed to let the fuel and air mix for longer resulting in a hotter and more complete burn. I found a link where someone actually tested this theory (and others for passing smog) and lowering the timing gave a significant reduction in HC. At least that's the theory. I has dropped the idle timing to 12 deg when it passed the second time.
